Hexagram 61 Truth
The model of the moment: Truth can be a powerful ally in the forging of new relationships, or the persuasion and influence of others. It can be especially effective in coping with our own internal conflicts. Truth is strongest when undiluted by the flavor of personal desires. Only by learning the truth about ourselves may we wield sincerity in our words and deeds. Insight into larger truths and hidden patterns may be derived from careful refinement of our perceptions of the world. For instance, keeping in mind the law of polarity reversal allows us to note current excesses which beckon the inevitable tide of opposing forces. The course usually recommended for such times: Recognize that truth, sincerity, compassion, and innocence of expectation are not only virtues, but reliable tools for dealing with most any contingency. They form a set of concepts which offers a spiritual form of martial arts to the user. For example, if we can clear our minds of our own desires and expectations, we can put ourselves in the place of another, seeing through their eyes, hearing through their ears. In this way we can learn how they feel and what they will probably do, in a given situation. Such profound knowledge of others can serve us well.
Fixed (no changing lines);
This is a plateau process or event; the given model will hold true for an extended period of time. Attempts to manipulate events away from the present course could prove frustrating and fruitless, until destiny is satisfied. Consider the following as well as the above: It is essential now for you to open your mind towards your objective. Failing to do so promises only impasse.
Changing Lines:
1
Your sense of inner peace is too weak. It is easily upset by things beyond your control. This is truly a tragic state, as virtually nothing in this vast Universe is susceptible to our manipulations ( As of 1991; this could change drastically in millennia to come. ). Therefore, you will be doomed to a lifetime filled with terror and apprehension if you cannot reach a certain tolerance for such truths. Your inner self needs work.
2
Here is an excellent example of sincerity in action. Your conduct and words find ready allies in those who know them. Harmony is achieved.
3
You allow others a great say in your internal feelings of well-being. This can subject you to a wide spectrum of emotional response. Everyone is unique. And capable of entirely different reactions to the same situation. Do not feel inferior simply because your own reactions vary from another's.
4
Look for guidance from a superior, or noble principle. This may require you to break away from certain associates.
5
Here is the role of a real leader. One who maintains principles in the very face of adversity, and attracts others through the strength of his or her character.
6
Your stature will not support ambitious plans at this time.
When all lines are changing;
Do not delude yourself.
