Hexagram 45 Meeting
The model of the moment: Just as water sometimes congregates in large bodies as a response to changes in the environment, so too do people gather in periodic assemblies. In the mixing of foreign waters, the further evolution of life is spurred on, and new, fertile soils distributed and laid down for the benefit of future generations. Likewise, new ideas and opportunities flow at meetings between groups and individuals, that otherwise might not. Newly discovered dangers in one part of the world may be communicated to others, allowing them to better prepare for their own encounters with same. The body of society at such functions also serves to preserve traditions and customs that have helped mankind survive this far. The social body provides a certain momentum to older, proven ways of doing things, that forces new methods to be well tested before they are adopted over the old. Individuals learn of the problems of others there, and may therefore be comforted that they are not alone in their travails, and that many may well face far worse problems than they. Personal views and perspectives can be changed greatly by a profitable meeting. The course usually recommended for such times: Proper preparations are necessary in order to encourage meetings between different factions. A certain protection from loss for participants, much like a microcosm of civilization, is suitable for such gatherings. This foundation might be 'rules of order', or guarantees of safe passage and conduct through the time and place of assembly. The group should definitively select a leader or host from amongst their number, who will act and be accepted as the highest authority for the event at hand. This will help minimize problems. In cases of crisis where prolonged conflict may mean disaster for all, note that distance from the scene of an important event can be detrimental to either side, in terms of the leverage enjoyed over what takes place there. Therefore it would be beneficial to you to make a point of being present at more such events than your foe. This can include meetings between various power blocs. Try to maintain a presence and influence of some sort, child, where the action is.
Fixed (no changing lines);
This is a plateau process or event; the given model will hold true for an extended period of time. Attempts to manipulate events away from the present course could prove frustrating and fruitless, until destiny is satisfied. Consider the following as well as the above: Personal goals are greatly influenced by the groups in which one is a member. Such groups come about through marriage, work, friendships, and other associations. The greatest personal profit from these relationships will be found in serving the interests of the leaders within each group.
Changing Lines:
1
Disorder is stalling completion of the assembly. Seek help in overcoming this.
2
Your contributions and virtuous ideals have brought you an invitation to meet. Accepting will bring good fortune and possible new opportunities.
3
Indecision and complaints have not helped you to advance. Look for those who share your goals and join them. Any delay will bring regret.
4
It may well be that most of your ills are imaginary. Aiding in the assembly of like minded people with no self serving goals of your own will bring great success.
5
To encourage success, take actions within the group to inspire confidence and trust among the people. Greater responsibility always brings with it more or bigger problems. Dealing with problems is what responsibility is all about. So do not bemoan your status.
6
Being too reserved within the group will greatly limit your own enjoyment of the proceedings, but bring no criticisms. Be open.
When all lines are changing;
The regular assembling of minds and peoples is more than a potential benefit for all involved; it is also a source of hope for the world. For only in face to face meetings can we hope to resolve differences and find solutions to our greatest problems.
