Hexagram 43 Resolution
The model of the moment: Here a decision to expose and remove corruption is required, in spite of the dangers involved. Danger and evil tidings may surround you. The course usually recommended for such times: Sometimes all that is needed to rectify a situation is a single decision. And yet we might agonize over that decision. We must realize that rarely will decisions come easily, or appear clear cut. Often we must make do with inadequate information, fuzzy logic, and circuitous paths to make such choices. This usually means simply gritting our teeth and doing it. Taking the chance. Right or wrong. Sure, it's all right to wait if time is available; but in this case it looks like you're out of time. It's also good to gather all the information you can relevant to the decision; but now it appears you have all you're going to get. At present, all you can do is make sure your principles and goals are correct, and make the best decision you can based on what you know at the moment. In cases of crisis where prolonged conflict may mean disaster for all, once the battle is joined, no quarter should be given until the fight is definitively won. Halfhearted measures will only lose the day, not win it. Allow your enemy no chance to rest or regroup; to do so would be to court disaster. Press on until the affair is finished in its entirety. In light of this imperative, you should not directly engage the enemy until you are certain of victory, and well prepared to endure the struggle that ensues, to the very end.
Fixed (no changing lines);
This is a plateau process or event; the given model will hold true for an extended period of time. Attempts to manipulate events away from the present course could prove frustrating and fruitless, until destiny is satisfied. Consider the following as well as the above: The greatest problems you face are within you, not external. Solutions will require commitment and determination. Both the strength you require for success, and the weakness that can defeat you, exist within your own character. Your consistency of will shall be the deciding factor.
Changing Lines:
1
You are not in as good a position as you would like to believe. Proceeding now will bring only humiliating set backs, or worse.
2
Avoid possible reprisals to your efforts by maintaining due caution as you proceed.
3
It is still too early to attack the corruption directly. Others will criticize you for your timidity, but it cannot be helped. Proceeding at the wrong time will only bring misfortune.
4
Indecision helps corruption to survive. Your own actions have brought punishment upon you. Align yourself with others to carve out the decay. Follow the lead of another.
5
The complete removal of the corruption may seem daunting, and even impossible. But it can be done. The price, however, may include the severing of some of your personal relationships with others.
6
Here you can expect bad luck and little help. Only after the corruption has been dissolved can order be restored.
When all lines are changing;
You should strive to avoid violence and diplomatically cope with the situation. Determined action is required, but excessive enthusiasm in the doing of it will bring you harm.
