Hexagram 39 Interference
The model of the moment: This is a difficult time. Personal injury or other restraint is making an already perilous time even worse. But help may soon be available, child. Advisors face a particularly difficult task in such times; perhaps a dangerous one. Truth can often be unpleasant for the recipient. Inferior leaders have been known to unjustly punish bearers of bad news. But avoiding the facts only increases losses in the long run. The truth may be hidden or difficult to ascertain now. The course usually recommended for such times: Seek out the truth of things. Avoid basing your actions on personal prejudice, the opinions of others, or unsubstantiated fears. Be prepared to accept hardship in the short term, until relief can arrive.
Fixed (no changing lines);
This is a plateau process or event; the given model will hold true for an extended period of time. Attempts to manipulate events away from the present course could prove frustrating and fruitless, until destiny is satisfied. Consider the following as well as the above: The way ahead is closed. Yet the barrier is of your own making, not another's. Seek out the reason you chose this particular path, or helped erect this specific barrier, and you will find the way to overcome it.
Changing Lines:
1
Wait, or you will rapidly put yourself into a situation that you cannot get out of on your own.
2
It is your duty to deal with a great many difficulties now, many of which were originally the responsibilities of others, who were unwilling or unable to cope with them. Expect peril in your struggles, but also an honorable ending to the ordeal.
3
Do not advance at this time, for you will only add to your difficulties. Either stay at your starting point or return to it.
4
Do not advance at this time. Seek reliable help before proceeding further.
5
Your sincerity towards resolving your problems amidst great risk and difficulties, brings you help almost in the fashion of a rescue. Keep in mind that your best friends are those most likely to give you the truth about the situation.
6
Your assistance to others swells your personal burden, but brings good fortune and contentment nonetheless. Seek out good advice.
When all lines are changing;
We ourselves are often our own worst enemy. Subconsciously setting up road blocks or subtly maneuvering ourselves into punishing circumstances. The greatest hindrance usually comes of us lying to ourselves.
