Hexagram 30 Cooperation
The model of the moment: Early in our evolution, humanity learned a valuable lesson. That two could accomplish more than one. This was the birth of cooperation among people. This phenomenon is so important to survival that a wide range of species can be observed making use of it; sometimes even in multispecies arrangements. As technology removes or loosens other restrictions and limitations from us, still time itself remains a precious commodity. It appears, in fact, that time may become the only resource we cannot ultimately 'innovate our way around' in our endeavors. Gaining the help of others pools many valuable resources for us to draw upon, of which only one is an increased amount of time to apply to a task. So cooperation is what makes the greatest of projects possible. No one person could design, build, and launch a manned expedition to the Moon. No one person could dig a tunnel beneath the English Channel to link Britain and continental Europe. Only the cooperation of many can perform such feats. Mankind's ability to cooperate in ever larger numbers is one of its greatest strengths. The course usually recommended for such times: We would do well, on an individual level, not to overlook cooperation when seeking a way to accomplish ambitious tasks. The best results of cooperation begin with skilled negotiations bringing about a compromise that benefits all involved.
Fixed (no changing lines);
This is a plateau process or event; the given model will hold true for an extended period of time. Attempts to manipulate events away from the present course could prove frustrating and fruitless, until destiny is satisfied. Consider the following as well as the above: A new accord is called for in your life. You have gathered to yourself a wide array of diverse elements; your job, friends and family, health, and personal goals. But do all these fit together as they should? Optimally, each should complement the others. If they don't, the incompatibilities can make for friction, strife, and stress.
Changing Lines:
1
Those in authority should be the most sensitive to winds of change. For it is they who have the farthest to fall if a fresh turn of events should prove adverse to the status quo.
2
Seize upon the opportunities for good fortune that now surround you, but avoid arrogance.
3
Certain endeavors have ended. Find joy and satisfaction in your achievements, and do not dwell on your mistakes.
4
Abrupt and unplanned actions usually result in little more than fatigue. Such movements will not be seen as significant by others, and actually may bring that which you fear most one step nearer.
5
You grow anxious from the impact of certain influences on your life. Yield and adapt to them in order to survive and prosper. For example, if an appropriate response to a certain event is sadness, such as in regard to the loss of a loved one, then let it be so. Occasionally we must give way to sorrow ( and other emotions ), else they will accumulate as water behind a dam, and drown us when finally they burst forth from their confinement.
6
Decisive action is required now to drive out evil. Be careful to avoid harming the innocent. Inevitably, errors will occur, even with the best of intentions. Minimize such mistakes where you can.
When all lines are changing;
Cooperation can be one of the hardest things to achieve among peoples, and yet also one of the most rewarding. Cooperation makes things possible that otherwise simply could not be.
